Have you seen the wonderful War Memorial Plaque that has been installed outside Mrs Dunn’s office? The plaque had originally been mounted in St Simon’s Church Paddington, which closed in 1978, and was recently restored by the War Memorial Trust who offered it to St Luke’s.
The memorial forms an important part of our local history, so we were delighted to accept.
A representative of the Trust – Carlie Silvey – came into school to take a special assembly, followed by class workshops to talk about the War Memorial. Our pupils were very excited to be able to trace some of the names on the Memorial back to the roads in which they live today and even to some of the same houses.
