Slime Scientists!

In team R we have been learning how materials can change. In our class story, The Little Red Hen, we have learned how wheat becomes bread – it gets crushed, mixed, kneaded and cooked to become bread.

We wanted to make slime so we thought about how we could change materials to make it. We used cornflour because it behaves like a solid object some when you push it, but behaves like a liquid when it is slowly poured.

We worked with a learning partner to make our own slime recipe. We carefully added little bits of other ingredients and observed what happened when we mixed them together before deciding what we needed to do next. When the slime was too dry and crumbly we needed to add ingredients to make it wetter, and when it was too sticky we needed to add more cornflour.
