This week we have been doing lots of learning about Jack and the Beanstalk.
We have all enjoyed watching this version of the story but we ran out of time to finish it. Click here to find part 14 so you can finish the story.
Today we read Jasper’s Beanstalk and discovered that most beanstalks don’t grow over night. We guessed how long it would take for our beans (peas actually) to grow as tall as a pencil. When children were guessing in hours we talked about how scientists make clever guesses (predictions) based on what we know. We know Jasper waited a week and then a long, long time, so we made new guesses of 2 weeks, 110 days, 22 days, 600 days, 10 days, 48 days, 1 week, 6 days, 200 days, and 19 days.
